Job Summary
This role is for a highly motivated Program Manager to strategically develop and manage the Validation Tool funding program at Max-Planck-Innovation GmbH, the technology transfer unit of the Max Planck Society. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the program's content, coordinating program-related communication, and ensuring transparency and quality assurance for the effective implementation of the funding scheme. Day-to-day tasks include strategic program development, building a network of suitable service providers for technical validation projects, budget monitoring, and representing the Validation Tool externally. This position requires a background in natural sciences (PhD preferred in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or Engineering), experience in project management, and a keen interest in the commercialization of academic research. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills, work proactively, and contribute significantly to transferring fundamental research into economically and socially useful projects.
Required Skills
Education
PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Process Engineering, or Engineering (or comparable qualification in this area)
Experience
- Experience in Project Management, including budget monitoring, or with funding projects
- Experience in De-Risking/Validation of early research results, ideally from relevant industry positions
- Knowledge in Entrepreneurship, Product Development, Patent Law, and basics of Public Procurement Law (ideal)
- Professional experience in a scientific or engineering field
