Job Summary

The Federal Environment Agency (UBA), one of Europe's largest environmental authorities, is seeking a Technical Employee/Engineer for the Air Measurement Network department, based in Suhl (Gehlberg). This is an unlimited, full-time position with part-time options available. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate the Schmücke air measurement station, focusing on the conceptual development and optimization of the unit. Key responsibilities include designing, supervising, and ensuring the quality of procedures for measuring reactive trace substances, climate-relevant gases, aerosols, and radiation parameters, with a specific emphasis on VOC analysis. The role requires strong technical expertise in measurement technology and analytical chemistry, a structured approach, and leadership skills to guide staff in sample preparation, analysis, quality assurance, and data management. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor, Diploma [FH]) in Engineering or Natural Sciences, preferably Environmental Technology, Technical Environmental Protection, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Meteorology, Geosciences, or Physics.

Experience
