Job Summary

This role seeks a self-motivated and resilient Associate Mechanical Design Engineer to take full product design responsibility for high-voltage automotive battery modules, driving performance, safety, reliability, and scalability from concept through production. Day-to-day tasks involve 3D design of complex parts, hands-on prototyping, meticulous release of 2D drawings, and owning basic testing and analysis. The ideal candidate possesses strong engineering fundamentals in heat transfer, fluids, mechanics, and electronics, coupled with demonstrated ability to create products from CAD design to physical prototypes. Crucially, the role requires experience designing for high-volume assembly and familiarity with various manufacturing processes like injection molding, stamping, and welding. Success hinges on collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers, demanding a detail-oriented personality and a passion for pushing technological boundaries in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent. Master's Degree a plus.

Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to create products from CAD design to hands-on prototyping
  • Experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., plastic injection molding, metal stamping)
  • Experience in designing for high volume assembly, both manual and automated
  • Experience defining test plans, designing test setups, and analyzing data
  • Direct machine shop skills a plus
  • Experience with student Formula Vehicle, Solar Car, Hyperloop etc. a plus
