Job Summary

This role involves joining Tesla's Chassis Design Engineering team, contributing to the development of safe, efficient, and sustainable vehicle systems. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for managing components and systems—including tires, wheels, suspension, steering, and brakes—from initial concept through to production and beyond. Day-to-day tasks include developing and optimizing designs using 3D CAD and CAE tools, validating manufacturing feasibility, releasing component documentation (including 2D drawings), and coordinating with cross-functional teams like supply chain and production to resolve issues. The ideal candidate must possess a strong foundation in mechanical engineering fundamentals, be proficient in 3D CAD software, and demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities and self-management to drive projects to completion, focusing on optimizing cost, mass, and performance.
