Job Summary

This role involves establishing and leading the AI Core Competence Group within the BioSysteM Cluster, an international research network focused on designing and controlling biological systems. The successful candidate will act as an independent Junior Research Group Leader, driving the efficient application of AI tools across the cluster's interdisciplinary research areas. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and delivering mandatory and advanced domain-specific AI training courses, conducting lab visits to assess specific needs, and closely collaborating with scientists to execute advanced AI analyses. Key qualifications include a Doctorate in a relevant scientific field (Computer Science, Math, Physics), profound knowledge of scientific software development, and expertise in applied data science and machine learning, particularly with Omics and/or image data. This is a unique opportunity to shape the central AI strategy of a leading German Excellence Cluster, providing high-level scientific and technical leadership in a cutting-edge research environment.
