Job Summary

This permanent position in Koblenz is for an Electrical Engineer at the Federal Agency for Inland Traffic Technology (ABVT), a key part of Germany's Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV). The successful candidate will be crucial in ensuring the safety and efficiency of ship traffic by developing and optimizing visual navigation aids, including both floating and fixed maritime signs. Day-to-day duties involve creating technical concepts, performing complex calculations, conducting market analyses for components, and producing comprehensive technical documentation, including hazard analysis and electrical design (E-Construction). Furthermore, the role requires planning and configuring measurement systems to test regenerative energy solutions for autonomous power supply, providing technical support to other WSV offices, and managing central material procurement through defining technical delivery conditions and quality assurance criteria. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the nationwide implementation of the Traffic Technology 4.0 strategy, requiring a relevant Bachelor's degree and strong German language proficiency.
