Job Summary

This permanent role with the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSA) involves maintaining and repairing critical maritime traffic technology systems along the Kiel Canal. Working within the Telecommunications Task Group, you will be responsible for the upkeep of server systems, network components, and remote control monitoring systems. Daily tasks include the maintenance of data transmission hardware and participation in an on-call rotation to ensure the continuous safety of maritime traffic. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed vocational training as an Information Electronics Technician, Electronics Technician for Information and System Technology, Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, IT Systems Electronics Technician, or IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) with strong hardware knowledge.

Experience

  • Professional experience in telecommunications, network, radio, or radar technology
  • Practical experience with server systems and network infrastructure maintenance
  • Experience working with Microsoft and Linux-based operating systems
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively within a technical team
  • Experience or willingness to participate in on-call service rotations
