This role involves acting as the primary Information Security and IT Officer for the Electrical Engineering/Computer Science department at a university. Key responsibilities include independently implementing the university's information security policy, supporting the development of the Information Security Management System (ISMS), and ensuring compliance with security guidelines. The officer will also be responsible for planning and securing the department's specialized IT infrastructure, focusing on network segmentation and firewall strategies, and managing IT projects with a focus on security standards. Additionally, the role includes managing the department's IT infrastructure, serving as the liaison to the central IT service center, administering Typo3 projects, handling technical procurement, and managing the Computer Lab (CIP-Pool) for Computer Science students. This position is attractive for professionals with strong IT security and administration experience, offering a chance to strategically influence departmental IT policy and security posture, while also providing practical technical support and training.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in Computer Science or IT Security

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in IT Administration/Security in a university environment
  • Experience at the level of central and decentralized university institutions (ideally)
  • Practical experience in technical procurement (needs assessment, tendering, contract awarding)
  • Experience with virtualization, software distribution, and user administration in teaching environments
