Job Summary

This role involves providing essential Level I technical support and monitoring for central and decentralized IT specialized systems within the Geoinformation sector of the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) in Euskirchen. The technician will primarily handle incoming error reports for IT systems and satellite receivers, continuously monitor system operating status using monitoring tools, and diagnose and resolve faulty system states in meteorological terminal systems via remote maintenance and telephone support. Key daily tasks include installing online updates, meticulously documenting all errors and corrective actions in a ticketing system, and escalating unresolved issues to Level II support. Candidates must possess qualifications in IT or natural sciences (meteorology focus) and be prepared for continuous 24/7 shift work and regular domestic travel. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Assistant for Informatics, IT Specialist, IT System Electronics Technician, or comparable professional qualification; OR Qualification for the intermediate natural science service - Meteorology specialization

Experience

  • Professional experience in network technology and error analysis/resolution on data processing systems (DV-Anlagen)
  • Professional experience in telecommunications operations and data processing
