Job Summary

This role seeks an experienced Payload Engineer specializing in broadband high-frequency and antenna technology for LEO, MEO, and GEO telecom payloads. The architect will be crucial in expanding the telecom payload team, focusing on developing analog and digital payloads based on detailed customer specifications. Day-to-day tasks include technical support during the bidding phase, performing critical link budget analyses using proprietary tools to determine overall system capacity, and creating comprehensive documentation across all satellite project phases (0 through E). The position requires involvement in unit reviews, managing subsystem interfaces (Harness, SRDB, MIB), and preparing and executing customer PDRs and CDRs. Furthermore, the role supports environmental testing (TVAC, CATR), manages RF settings, and serves as the primary technical contact for the payload throughout the satellite's operational lifetime, making it a highly technical and central position in satellite mission development.

Required Skills

Education

Master’s degree in RF- or Communication Engineering, Antenna Engineering, Electrotechnic-Engineering, or equivalent qualification

Experience

  • Initial experience with digital payloads and digital beamforming is desirable
  • Work experience in systems engineering is desirable
  • Experience in high-frequency technology (P- up to Q/V-Band)
  • Experience in the field of optical communications technology (ISL terminals) is advantageous
