Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration by operating and developing critical traffic technology systems for inland waterways. The successful candidate, based in Koblenz, will join the Office for Inland Traffic Technology (ABVT) team, focusing on the technical operation of systems like a fiber optic network (SDH; MPLS), dedicated radio networks (NIF; AIS; DGNSS), and various information services (NaMIB; EuRIS; SMGT). Key responsibilities include coordinating planning and execution meetings for traffic technology measures, managing maintenance and inspection schedules, handling fault resolution and spare parts management (hardware and software), and overseeing procurement processes according to public regulations (UVgO, EVB-IT, VgV). The position requires a degree in Computer Science, ideally with a focus on Telecommunications or Information Technology, and provides an opportunity to actively shape the implementation of the Traffic Technology Strategy 2030.

University of Applied Sciences Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Telecommunications/Information Technology or comparable field

Experience
