Job Summary
This role involves supporting the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV) by ensuring the secure, available, and integral operation of critical traffic control services and systems for inland navigation, including fiber optic networks (SDH, MPLS) and proprietary radio networks (NIF, AIS, DGNSS). The Certified Technician will be responsible for creating and updating execution plans to meet quality goals, evaluating performance statistics, and managing system supervision and fault handling via existing management systems. A key focus is the coordination of maintenance, repair, and inspection activities, including planning and executing spare parts and material supply management. Candidates must hold a qualification as a Certified Technician in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or a comparable field, coupled with practical experience in network technology, maintenance, and procurement processes. This position offers the opportunity to actively shape the future of inland navigation technology (Traffic Engineering 4.0) within a large federal government career network.

Experience
- Professional experience as a Certified Technician
- Practical experience in the maintenance and spare parts management of transmission systems
- Practical experience in network technology, including configuration
- Practical experience in measurement technology and fault handling in transmission and network technology
- Experience in the planning and setup of transmission systems
