Job Summary

The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is seeking a dedicated IT Network Administrator to join their Core Facility Information Technology (ITCF). In this role, you will be instrumental in administering, supporting, and expanding the complex DKFZ network infrastructure, focusing on Campus (LAN), Datacenter, and controller-based WLAN systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing central infrastructure services like IPAM, AAA, Monitoring, and NetFlow, as well as performing proactive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and prevention of network disruptions across LAN, WLAN, Firewall, VPN, and authentication services. The ideal candidate holds a degree in IT System Integration or equivalent, possesses practical experience with network technologies, particularly Cisco, and demonstrates a strong commitment to stability, security, and documentation. Required Skills

Education

Successful completion of vocational training as an IT Specialist, specializing in System Integration, or equivalent qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in network administration (ideally)
  • Practical experience and expertise in networking, especially Cisco
  • Experience with Campus and Datacenter infrastructures
