Job Summary

This role involves acting as the primary expert for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) within an international development team focused on HVDC (High-Voltage Direct Current) and FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) control technology. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing EMC requirements for customer projects, conducting risk assessments against EMC tests, and collaborating closely with project execution and management teams to ensure compliance documentation is produced. The expert will be responsible for developing and optimizing innovative interference suppression concepts across the product range, conducting EMC analyses, and managing laboratory testing. Key qualifications include a degree in Electrical Engineering and several years of professional experience with relevant EMC standards, particularly in the context of plant and switchgear construction, making this a critical position for maintaining product quality and regulatory conformity in the energy sector.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable qualification; Ideally, supplementary certification as a Lightning Protection Specialist, EMC Specialist, or EMC Expert

Experience

  • Several years of experience in Electromagnetic Compatibility
  • Experience with relevant EMC standards (e.g., IEC 61000-6-5)
  • Experience in plant/switchgear construction
