Job Summary

This role involves leading the IT architecture design and integration for modern, hyper-converged data center environments supporting the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The Lead IT Architect will focus on developing innovative, scalable, and secure on-premise platforms using VMware Cloud Foundation, ESXi, vSphere, and Software Defined Networking (VMware NSX). Key responsibilities include creating technical-architectural concepts, designing and integrating Kubernetes environments (specifically Tanzu and vSphere Kubernetes Services), and managing the lifecycle of virtualisation platforms from Day 0 to Day 2 operations. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in VMware technologies, a structured, hands-on approach, and strong communication skills necessary for cross-functional collaboration and consultation with management.
