This role is for a highly qualified individual to join the leading German AI competence center, ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig, as a Research Associate and PhD Student. The position is central to advancing the German government's AI strategy, focusing on Big Data and Artificial Intelligence fundamentals, applications, and societal aspects. Day-to-day work involves cutting-edge research within a structured, English-language PhD program, allowing the candidate to complete a doctoral thesis within three years. Key requirements include an outstanding Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, coupled with very strong programming skills and significant AI/ML knowledge. - The position is limited to three years, governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (WissZeitVG). Applicants must have an M.Sc. finished before July 2025. Non-native English speakers must provide proof of English language test (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, CAE) not older than 12 months, unless exempted by completed degree program or German school-graduation.
