Job Summary

This crucial role involves acting as the 'Network Glue' for a complex, automated WAN and Core infrastructure spanning five data centers across Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, robust operation, and strategic development of the core network, ensuring a highly available cloud infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include orchestrating network components, troubleshooting issues, administering switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers, and creating comprehensive network documentation. Key requirements include extensive experience with dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS), deep knowledge of network architectures like MPLS/VPLS and VXLAN, and familiarity with products from vendors such as Juniper, Arista, and Nokia. This position offers the opportunity to actively shape the future of flexible infrastructures, contribute to automation frameworks, and utilize diverse technologies in a high-level, sophisticated network environment.

  • Very good experience with dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, IS-IS & BGP)
  • Experience in productive operation with common network products (Juniper, Arista, and/or Nokia)
  • Deep knowledge of network topologies and core infrastructures, including MPLS/VPLS, VXLAN, IPv6, and data center interconnects
  • Familiarity with Firewall and Load Balancer providers and their implementation and management
  • Ideally, experience with the use of CI/CD pipelines and implementation of GitOps approaches in a network context
