Job Summary

This role seeks a dedicated Planning Engineer specializing in road construction and drainage systems to ensure the continued functionality of Germany's vital highway infrastructure. The position involves serving as Project Lead for planning activities, focusing specifically on drainage and rainwater treatment for routes, rest areas, and structures. Day-to-day responsibilities include generating preliminary designs, approval documents, and execution plans, or coordinating the work of external engineering firms performing these tasks. You will manage the full lifecycle of planning services, including procurement, contract handling (HOAI phases 1–6), and reviewing invoices and supplementary claims. A key component of the job is coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, as well as regulatory authorities, and handling objections during building permit procedures. Candidates must possess a degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Technology, professional experience in relevant planning areas, and strong knowledge of German regulatory and procurement laws (RAA, RAS-Ew, VOB, HVA). This is a crucial, permanent position based in Freiburg or Donaueschingen, requiring strong organizational and communication skills.
