Job Summary
This role requires an experienced engineer to lead and manage complex road planning projects essential for maintaining Germany's highway infrastructure. The Project Manager is responsible for the project-based planning, steering, and quality assurance of new construction, modifications, and preservation measures, including the independent creation and review of detailed road designs and execution documents. A significant part of the job involves the strategic management of external partners, including tendering, awarding, coordinating, and supervising contracts with engineering firms, ensuring all project milestones are met on time and within budget. The ideal candidate brings extensive professional experience in road planning, deep knowledge of technical norms and public procurement law, and strong communication skills. This position is crucial for shaping the future of mobile infrastructure and requires a proactive, responsible, and highly engaged professional.
Required Skills
Education
Scientific university degree (Master's or equivalent, or Bachelor's with long-term professional experience) in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Traffic Infrastructure Management, Mobility and Infrastructure, Environmental Technology (with a focus on Road Planning), or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in road planning within an engineering firm, construction company, or public administration
- Professional expertise and methodological knowledge in project processing related to road planning
- Experience in preparing, creating, and reviewing road designs
- Experience in tendering and awarding planning services contracts
Languages
Additional
- Driver's License Class B (Car) required; Willingness to operate a company vehicle; Willingness to travel within the branch area.
