Job Summary

The State Tax Administration of Rhineland-Palatinate is seeking a dedicated Mainframe IT Specialist to join the central data processing unit in Koblenz. This full-time, permanent role focuses on ensuring the continuous, uninterrupted operation of mainframe systems, primarily through the management of highly available storage solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating, selecting, installing, and maintaining virtual and physical storage systems (e.g., Fujitsu Eternus and Quantum tape libraries). The specialist will also be crucial in analyzing and implementing efficient data protection strategies, including backup and archiving solutions, and documenting all procedures and technologies. Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, deep expertise in BS2000 and Linux operating systems, and strong problem-solving and documentation skills. Experience

  • Experience with data backup concepts
