Job Summary

This role is a stimulating opportunity for a Master's graduate in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Pharmacy to join the Institute of Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Clinical Pharmacy at TU Braunschweig as a Research Associate/Doctoral Candidate. The successful candidate will focus on the mechanisms of stimulus-secretion coupling in pancreatic islet cells, specifically investigating the link between metabolism and insulin secretion in Beta-cells, and the regulation of glucagon secretion in Alpha-cells. Day-to-day tasks involve applying standard biochemical and molecular biology techniques, alongside advanced methods like live-cell imaging (Confocal and TIRF microscopy) and electrophysiology, using various cell lines and primary cells. This position is designed for scientific qualification, offering the possibility of obtaining a PhD, supported by a collaborative environment and personal mentorship. Additionally, the role includes participation in teaching activities for the Pharmacy degree program.
