The University of Rostock is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Hazardous Waste and Environmental Protection to lead its specialized department. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hazardous waste disposal, managing the disposal facility, and acting as the university's waste and dangerous goods officer. Your day-to-day tasks will involve strategic planning for economical and ecological waste management, budget oversight, and collaborating with external disposal companies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in natural sciences with a chemical focus, practical experience in hazardous waste and chemical disposal, and a deep understanding of relevant legal regulations. Required Skills

Education

University degree (FH-Diplom, Bachelor, or comparable) in natural sciences with a chemical focus, preferably in Chemical Sciences, with a good result.

Experience

  • Several years of practical professional experience in hazardous waste and chemical disposal
  • Experience in handling hazardous substances (solvents, organic/inorganic substances, mixtures)
  • Experience in identifying unknown hazardous substances
