Job Summary

This doctoral position focuses on developing and automating a Langmuir-Blodgett roll-to-roll apparatus for the automated production and in-situ characterization of photonic molecular layers at the air-water interface. The successful candidate will design and implement the automated system, including interfaces for controlling dosing, transfer, and deposition of molecular films. A key aspect of the role involves realizing innovative and highly sensitive microscopic and spectroscopic in-situ characterization techniques to generate large, automated datasets. These datasets will form the basis for developing and applying novel Machine Learning methods in collaboration with the Photonic Data Science department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in photonics and quantum detection within a leading research institute, providing world-class facilities and comprehensive personal training.
