Job Summary

The Leibniz Institute of Photonics Technology is seeking a part-time (50%) PhD candidate for its Research Department Photonics and Quantum Detection, specifically within the Photonic Interfaces group. This role focuses on an exciting project within the DFG's Priority Program "Molecular Machine Learning," involving the automated production and in-situ characterization of photonic molecular layers at the air-water interface. The successful candidate will design and implement an automated Langmuir-Blodgett roll-to-roll system, develop highly sensitive in-situ microscopic and spectroscopic characterization methods, and derive structure-property relationships. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research, working in close collaboration with the Photonic Data Science department and leveraging advanced machine learning techniques for data analysis.
