Job Summary

This role offers an opportunity to join Roche Diagnostics GmbH in Penzberg, focusing on critical laboratory work within Cell Culture and Bio-Process Development. The successful candidate will be responsible for the aseptic handling of mammalian cell cultures across various scales, operating and maintaining glass and steel fermenters (bioreactors), and conducting essential In-Process Controls (IPC) such as determining cell density, viability, and metabolite concentrations. Day-to-day tasks include preparing media and solutions, meticulous documentation of experimental procedures according to quality guidelines, and actively participating in process optimization and troubleshooting. This position requires a background as a Biology Laboratory Technician (Biologielaborant), CTA, BTA, or equivalent qualification in biotechnology/bioprocess engineering, coupled with practical experience in aseptic techniques and bioreactor operation. This is a crucial role supporting the development and production processes within a leading pharmaceutical environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Biology Laboratory Technician (Biologielaborant), Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), or comparable qualification with a focus on Biotechnology/Bioprocess Engineering.

Experience

  • Professional experience in handling cell cultures and aseptic techniques
  • Experience working with bioreactors (fermenters) and conducting IPC analyses (advantageous)
  • Professional experience in a fermentation operation (advantageous)
  • Basic knowledge of GMP (advantageous)
  • Basic knowledge of control engineering, qualification, and validation (advantageous)
