Job Summary
This role involves executing road renewal measures, encompassing the full lifecycle from planning, tendering, and awarding contracts to local construction supervision and final billing, covering all phases (1-9) of the HOAI for traffic facilities. The engineer will also prepare grant applications for road construction funding from state and federal bodies, commission and manage external engineering firms, and act as the road authority representative in various urban development and building permit procedures. This is a crucial role within the municipal services of Minden, requiring strong technical knowledge in civil engineering, specifically road construction and traffic systems, and proficiency with specialized CAD and tendering software like RIB-civil, California, and QGIS. The position is full-time, permanent, and offers a secure environment within a modern municipal administration, focused on maintaining and modernizing the city's infrastructure.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Diploma/Bachelor/Master) in Civil Engineering with a focus on Road Construction/Traffic Systems, or equivalent qualification; or eligibility for the first entry-level position of Career Group 2 of the structural engineering service in municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience with a municipal road authority or comparable practical experience in an engineering office
- Experience in road planning, tendering, and contract awarding
- Familiarity with and application of CAD, tendering, and graphical information systems (RIB-civil, California, QGIS)

- Class B or 3 driving license is desirable, or the ability to ensure comparable required mobility.
