Job Summary

This is a key leadership role for a scientifically minded professional to head the microbiology department at the accredited IMD Labor Berlin-Potsdam. The Head of Department will provide both technical and disciplinary leadership, focusing on developing the team and driving innovation. Day-to-day responsibilities include close collaboration with the medical team to establish new methods and quality standards, coordinating external inquiries, and serving as the primary technical point of contact for external practices and partner laboratories. The role requires representing the department externally at specialist events and actively contributing to process optimization and report generation. The ideal candidate holds a scientific degree, ideally in Microbiology, possesses strong knowledge of Bacteriology, and demonstrates proven leadership experience. They must be analytical, quality-conscious, and adept at strategic thinking, with a structured, solution-oriented approach to complex projects.
