Job Summary

The City of Bayreuth is seeking a dedicated Climate Protection Manager to drive the implementation and continuous adaptation of its ambitious integrated climate protection concept. This role involves initiating, managing, and documenting various climate protection measures in collaboration with internal departments and external partners. Key responsibilities include establishing a climate protection controlling system, securing funding through grant applications, and extensive networking with local stakeholders, businesses, and citizens. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in environmental sciences or a related field, strong analytical and strategic-conceptual abilities, and proven competencies in project management and public relations. This is a crucial, high-impact role requiring excellent organizational, moderation, and team-oriented skills to actively contribute to making the city more livable and sustainable.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (at least Bachelor's level) in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Technology, Geoecology, Renewable Energies, Geography with a focus on Energy/Climate Protection, or a comparable field. Graduates whose studies are immediately pending may also apply.

Experience

  • Professional experience in climate protection, energy and environmental management, energy efficiency, and renewable energies (Advantageous)
  • Experience in public relations and/or educational projects
  • Experience in project management
  • Knowledge of the structures and working methods of an administrative authority (Advantageous)

Additional

  • This is a temporary, part-time position (24.50 - 29 hours per week) covering maternity leave. The position is salaried according to TVöD pay group 11.
