Job Summary

The City of Bayreuth is seeking a System Administrator to strengthen its 'Applications and Databases' division within the Information Technology Department. This role involves the administrative support of various specialized software products, providing second-level support (both remote and on-site), and actively participating in digitalization projects. Key responsibilities include project management or collaboration on the introduction of new software solutions, particularly involving virtualization using Citrix XEN Desktop and XEN App, and administering MS SQL Server databases. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of virtualization solutions (preferably Citrix VDI/XEN App), Windows Client/Server environments, and MS SQL Server databases. A degree in Computer Science or a comparable field, or an equivalent technical qualification, is required.
