Job Summary

This role involves working as a Research Associate at OTH Regensburg, focusing on developing innovative adsorptive methods for CO2 separation from flue gases in close collaboration with industrial partners. The successful candidate will conduct experimental investigations and perform reaction kinetic-thermodynamic modeling of complex adsorption and reaction behavior of trace impurities (NOx, SOx) on adsorbents. Key responsibilities include developing and applying analytical methods for material characterization, validating process models, coordinating research activities with industry, and presenting findings at conferences. The position requires a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Process/Environmental/Energy Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, coupled with strong knowledge in adsorption, heterogeneous catalysis, and process modeling. This is a part-time (75%), fixed-term position until November 2028, offering the opportunity for doctoral studies.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (University or HAW) or Diploma (University) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Process/Environmental/Energy Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical-scientific field. Doctoral opportunity is available.

Experience

  • Professional experience in adsorption, heterogeneous catalysis, or analytical material characterization (beneficial)
  • Experience in the design and modeling of chemical process engineering processes (beneficial)
  • Experience in setting up and operating test facilities (beneficial)
