Job Summary

This critical role seeks a Technical Administrator or Specialist, such as a Hydraulic or Environmental Engineer, to join the Environmental Department of the Friesland District. The primary focus will be on ensuring optimal water protection and compliance amidst significant regional development, particularly large-scale energy transition projects like earth cable and hydrogen pipeline installations that heavily impact the water balance. Day-to-day tasks involve technically reviewing agricultural, hydraulic, and sewage treatment facilities, conducting water surveillance, and ensuring water management requirements are met during construction planning. The specialist will also be responsible for developing solutions to resolve conflicts between water management and ecological objectives. Candidates must possess a relevant university degree in engineering or environmental science. This is a temporary, full-time position (expected 2 years) offering the opportunity to work in a scenic coastal region central to Germany's energy future.
