Job Summary

This role involves ensuring the reliable, smooth, and fault-free operation of a passive fiber optic network, focusing heavily on quality assurance and regulatory compliance for all network activities. The technician will perform critical OTDR measurements, analyze fault locations, and implement sustainable error resolutions. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining splice plans, updating inventory documentation, managing network modifications, and coordinating external fault resolution teams (civil engineering, fiber optic assembly). The ideal candidate is a qualified technician or master craftsman in electrical or telecommunications engineering, highly proficient in fiber optic technology (NE3 and NE4), OTDR measurement, splicing, and fault analysis. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, and participation in a compensated on-call duty rotation, making it a vital role in maintaining regional telecommunications infrastructure.
