Job Summary

This is a full-time, permanent leadership position within the Information Technology department of the City of Hildesheim, overseeing IT services for the city administration and local schools. The Head of IT Services will be responsible for the strategic planning, organization, and operational execution of IT Client Management, ensuring effective and future-oriented delivery of technology services to approximately 1,300 workplaces across 59 municipal properties. Key duties include defining and maintaining the IT Service Catalog, managing the First-Level Support (User Help Desk and On-Site Service), and overseeing resource allocation (financial, technical, and personnel). Candidates must possess a degree in Computer Science (or equivalent practical experience), combined with several years of experience in IT Service Management, and ideally, prior leadership experience. This role requires strong organizational skills, a service-oriented approach, and the ability to ensure IT security and effective asset management within a complex public sector environment.
