Job Summary

This role involves specialized work within the Bavarian State Office for Statistics, focusing on the methodological advancement and calculation of regional National Accounts (VGR) and Employment Accounts (ETR) for German states. The specialist will be crucial in analyzing macroeconomic developments, such as GDP, investment, productivity, and employment structure, for use by government, business, and academia. Day-to-day tasks include implementing conceptual and methodological revisions (EU-wide General Revisions), conducting statistical data analyses, representing the State Office in working groups, and preparing expert articles and presentations. A key responsibility is optimizing internal processes, specifically transitioning calculation procedures from Excel to the programming language R. Candidates must possess a university degree in economics, statistics, or a related quantitative field, along with expertise in econometric methods and proficiency in R.
