Job Summary

This role involves serving as a Senior AI Platform Engineer within the Technology Center Future Computing & Security, focusing on identifying, evaluating, and implementing cutting-edge computing technologies for the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The expert will be responsible for the technical verification and assessment of new platform technologies for AI inference, training, machine learning, and real-time processing. Key day-to-day tasks include designing, implementing, and evaluating experimental Kubernetes environments (on-prem) utilizing novel hardware like GPUs, TPUs, and ARM/Risk-V architectures, including managing firmware and drivers for bleeding-edge technologies. The ideal candidate requires at least five years of post-graduate experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or MLOps, coupled with deep expertise in Kubernetes administration, AI resource optimization (especially GPUs), and DevSecOps techniques including Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform).
