Job Summary

This role involves providing essential IT support and administration for the faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences and Economic and Social Sciences at Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg. The IT Specialist will be responsible for the deployment, administration, and maintenance of faculty IT structures and services, focusing heavily on Microsoft environments. Key day-to-day tasks include managing and expanding Microsoft Active Directory structures, implementing software-based client automation and distribution for Windows systems, and providing dedicated end-user support for all IT-GWS services, including managing the PC laboratory. The ideal candidate must possess a university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in an IT-related field, coupled with strong knowledge of current IT and EDP structures, particularly within Microsoft environments. This is a crucial, service-oriented position requiring structured problem-solving skills and a high degree of self-organization, offered on a 2-year fixed-term contract.
