Job Summary

The Head of Science IT will lead the Science IT department within Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, driving the strategic development of digital infrastructure for the scientific environment. This leadership role involves planning, managing, and advancing IT systems and applications that support research operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading interdisciplinary teams of IT specialists, system administrators, project managers, and application support staff, fostering a service-oriented and user-centric approach. The successful candidate will manage complex digitalization projects, ensure compliance with quality, security, and data protection standards, and advise scientific stakeholders on IT strategies. Key requirements include a degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with significant professional and leadership experience in IT, and strong knowledge of IT Service Management and project management frameworks.
