Job Summary

The Charité IT department is seeking an IT Data Engineer to join their team, playing a crucial role in enhancing efficiency and security across healthcare, research, teaching, and administration. This position involves developing and implementing robust data pipelines for large medical datasets, including patient, clinical trial, sensor, and imaging data. Key responsibilities include automating data processes (ETL/ELT, monitoring, logging), optimizing reports and dashboards, and ensuring data quality through the transformation and harmonization of heterogeneous data sources (KIS, LIS, PDMS). The ideal candidate must possess a degree in Informatics, Data Science, or a related field, coupled with at least three years of professional experience in database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and data processing tools like Apache Spark. Strong programming skills, familiarity with cloud/container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and proficiency in German (C1) and English (B2) are required to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and implement necessary data security measures.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL)
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience with data processing tools (Apache Spark)
  • Experience with cloud and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)
  • Experience with healthcare data formats (FHIR) (Advantageous)
  • Experience with data protection and security standards in the healthcare sector (Advantageous)
