Job Summary

This critical role involves operating and monitoring a waste-to-energy plant in a continuous shift environment. The Power Plant Operator is responsible for controlling the facility via the process control system, managing start-up, shut-down, and fault recovery processes according to shift leadership instructions. Key daily tasks include conducting regular inspection rounds, performing electrical, mechanical, and control system lockouts (Freischaltungen) safely, and executing minor maintenance and repair work in collaboration with the maintenance team. A major responsibility is operating the crane system within the waste bunker for material handling, homogenization, and feeding the furnace. The ideal candidate must possess a completed electrical apprenticeship and the mandatory qualification as a certified Power Plant Operator. Professional experience, preferably in a waste incineration plant or power plant setting, is essential.
