Job Summary

This role involves taking responsibility for the architecture, strategy, and standardization of city-wide browser platforms (Firefox, Edge, Safari) for the City of Stuttgart's Department for Digitalization, Organization, and IT (DO.IT). The successful candidate will develop and implement a robust browser strategy to ensure secure, efficient, and future-proof access to digital services, defining standards, guidelines, and security requirements compliant with BSI-Grundschutz. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating strategic consulting, quality assurance for browser-related projects, and collaborating closely with other IT Domain Architects to integrate web platforms into the digital workplace. This is a critical, permanent position focused on supporting the city's digitalization efforts through specialized individual developments, offering a future-proof job within the public sector.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's level or equivalent), preferably in Informatics or a comparable field of study. Foreign degrees require German recognition.

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience in the field of study (Informatics or comparable)
  • Experience in the operational execution of projects
  • Experience in creating technical concepts
  • Multiple years of practical experience in the advertised field of activity (for civil servants)

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Must be willing to submit foreign degrees/qualifications with official German translation and recognition. Open to civil servants (Beamte) of the higher information technology service (minimum A 12) willing to successfully complete the advancement course.
