Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Clinic and Polyclinic for Dermatology, Venereology, and Allergology in Leipzig, focusing on the establishment of a new research group. The role involves cutting-edge research at the intersection of autoimmune disease genetics, evolutionary medicine, and clinical immunology, with the long-term goal of contributing to the cure of human diseases. Day-to-day tasks include performing complex computational analyses on large public datasets (e.g., GWAS summary statistics, single-cell RNA-Seq), conducting evolutionary analyses (comparative genomics, phylogenetics), and performing immunological and molecular analyses on clinical samples. The ideal candidate holds a completed PhD in a biomedical field, possesses strong foundational experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or statistical genetics, and is enthusiastic about interdisciplinary teamwork and learning new techniques. This position offers the chance to build a lab from the ground up under the guidance of a PI with extensive international research and mentoring experience.
