Job Summary

This PhD position at the Rudolf-Boehm-Institute for Pharmacology and Toxicology offers a unique opportunity to conduct advanced research into the pathophysiology of diabetes, obesity, and age-related endocrine dysfunction. As a doctoral candidate, you will engage in day-to-day metabolic phenotyping using mouse models, investigate pancreatic islet cells, and analyze TRP channel and GPCR signaling pathways. The role involves applying a wide range of in vivo, cellular, and molecular techniques within a state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced fluorescence microscopy and screening units. Beyond research, you will contribute to teaching and mentoring activities, document findings, and prepare scientific publications. This position is ideal for researchers seeking a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment at one of the region's largest research institutions. The contract is part-time (26 hours/week) for a duration of three years, providing a structured qualification phase (R2/R3) under the TV-L EG 13 salary scale.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Biology, Cell Biology, or Biochemistry.

Experience

  • Professional laboratory experience, specifically in sterile working conditions and cell culture
