Job Summary

The Waterways and Shipping Office Donau MDK, part of the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Specialist/Engineer to join their Waterways department in Regensburg. This is a crucial role focusing on the planning, execution, and maintenance of electrical and communication technology construction projects for waterways and watercraft. Day-to-day tasks involve managing procurement and contract matters, providing technical operation and maintenance for inland traffic technology, and handling general electrical engineering affairs. The ideal candidate must hold a university degree (FH-Diploma or Bachelor) in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field, possess strong organizational skills, and have fluent German proficiency. This position is initially part-time (19.5 hours) and temporary until October 2029, with a full-time option available until April 2027, offering the chance to contribute to the vital infrastructure of Germany's waterways.

Required Skills

Education

Technical university degree (FH-Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering) in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field (e.g., Automation Technology), or eligibility for the higher technical civil service

Experience

  • Knowledge and experience in procurement procedures (VOB, UVgO, etc.)
  • Professional experience in planning and executing electrical and communication technology measures
  • Professional experience in construction and maintenance of watercraft (Electrical Engineering)
  • Knowledge of IT procedures RIB iTWO and DVtU (Processing component)

  • Valid Class B driver's license and willingness to drive official vehicles; Health suitability for on-site construction supervision (including freedom from vertigo); Regular business trips within the district of the Waterways and Shipping Office Donau MDK and beyond are required; Position is temporary until October 31, 2029; Initial part-time (19.5 hours) with full-time option until April 30, 2027.
