Job Summary

This PhD Researcher position is part of the DFG-funded Research Training Group (RTG) 3095, a collaborative doctoral program focusing on protective and pathogenic antibody responses at immunological barrier organs like the skin, intestine, and lungs. The successful candidate will specifically work on subproject P09, applying artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to analyze complex multi-parameter cytometric data sets involving rare B cell subsets from experimental and medical samples. Daily tasks involve conducting cutting-edge doctoral research, developing machine-based learning algorithms for bioinformatics data analysis, and actively participating in the RTG’s structured qualification program, including presenting findings within the consortium. The role requires a Master’s degree in bioinformatics or life sciences, excellent English proficiency, and demonstrated experience with statistical software like R. This position offers access to state-of-the-art technologies such as single-cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics, providing an excellent environment for scientific networking and advanced qualification in immunological research.

Required Skills

Education

Master’s degree (or equivalent) in bioinformatics, life sciences, or a related discipline, fulfilling the formal requirements for enrolment as a doctoral candidate.

Experience
