Job Summary

This role involves leading the enabling technologies for pre-development activities and projects within the innovation department, focusing on cutting-edge, AI-powered applications utilizing modern software technologies and architectures in image-guided interventions. The Project Lead will collaborate closely with R&D system and software architects, developers, and internal stakeholders to support prototyping, design, and requirements management for software applications interacting with medical imaging modalities. Key responsibilities include focusing on AI enablement, architecture, interfaces, and security concepts, potentially involving Software as a Medical Device (SAMD). The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in computer science or a related field, extensive experience in project execution, and deep technical knowledge of virtualization (Docker, Kubernetes), RESTful services, API design, DevOps principles, and security mechanisms. This position is attractive due to its focus on pioneering AI and Federated Learning solutions within the dynamic medical technology sector, offering significant flexibility with up to 60% mobile work within Germany.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Computer Science, Medical Informatics, Mathematics, or a comparable field

Experience

  • Many years of experience in project execution
  • Practical experience with virtualization technologies and container runtimes (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with RESTful Services and API design
  • Practical experience with encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms
  • Advantageous: Insights into medical imaging techniques, image-guided clinical procedures, or medical device development
