Job Summary

This role is an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to contribute to cutting-edge research in Multi-User Mixed Reality (MR) and Extended Reality (XR) within the Faculty of Computer Science at TU Dresden. The successful candidate will focus on accelerating the development process of Multi-User MR applications, enhancing reliability, and boosting visual realism. Day-to-day tasks involve extensive literature review on collaborative XR environments, designing and implementing sophisticated UX strategies for MR prototypes (including spatial perception and visual consistency), and developing interaction and design solutions using the Unity Engine. This position requires deep expertise in UX/UI design for immersive 3D applications, practical proficiency with Unity, Blender, and HMDs (Meta/Oculus), and experience conducting user studies. The associate will also be responsible for presenting findings at conferences and contributing to scientific publications, offering a unique chance for further academic qualification in an interdisciplinary, internationally networked research environment.

Required Skills

Education

Scientific university degree in Computer Science, Media Informatics, Interaction Design, Media Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Game Design, Communication Design, or a comparable field

Experience

  • Fundamentally practical experience with Unity Engine, Blender3d (or comparable modeling software), Adobe Suite, and Meta/Oculus HMDs
  • Professional experience in conceiving and conducting user studies and design evaluations
  • In-depth knowledge of UX and UI design, focused on immersive, interactive, and collaborative 3D applications
