Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Ministry for Energy Transition, Climate Protection, Environment and Nature in Schleswig-Holstein, focusing on key climate policy objectives. The Policy Officer will be responsible for fundamental issues concerning climate change and its consequences, including climate modeling, and implementing reporting obligations mandated by federal climate adaptation laws. Day-to-day tasks include regularly updating and analyzing climate impact monitoring data for the region, drafting expert opinions and proposals for decision-making at professional and political levels, and participating in federal-state working groups. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (Biology, Geography, Environmental Sciences) and possesses strong analytical, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills, driving forward climate protection and adaptation strategies on local, state, and federal levels.
