Job Summary

Join the BWI team as a DevOps Infrastructure Engineer, contributing to the digital future of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) by modernizing and securing one of Germany's largest IT infrastructures. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, operating, and securing the technical foundation of the Software Factory. Day-to-day tasks involve the continuous development, operation, and security of infrastructure for development environments, planning and automating infrastructure services compliant with BSI-Grundschutz and internal security standards, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. You will focus on increasing automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), managing container and virtualization platforms, and optimizing monitoring and troubleshooting processes. This position requires expertise in complex data center or cloud infrastructures, a strong understanding of DevSecOps principles, and fluency in German, offering a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to contribute to national security and digital sovereignty.
