Job Summary

This role offers a Scientist the opportunity to join Roche Diagnostics GmbH in Mannheim, focusing on the research and development of Point of Care (POC) diagnostics. The primary responsibilities involve independently developing and evaluating new test formats and platforms, conducting experimental feasibility studies to assess assay performance, and supporting the development of dry chemistry formulations. A crucial aspect of the role is ensuring a smooth transfer of developed products into production, requiring close collaboration with manufacturing teams. The successful candidate will also be responsible for organizing laboratory processes, performing experimental planning and evaluation (including GMP documentation), and handling human material samples (whole blood, plasma) for regulatory test series. Candidates must possess a completed university degree in a natural science field (such as Chemistry or Biotechnology), coupled with significant professional experience in POC assay R&D, including expertise in immunological test formulation and IVDR regulatory guidelines. Strong theoretical foundations in protein chemistry, immunology, and biochemistry are essential, along with fluency in German and good English skills for documentation.
