Job Summary

This role as an IT Service Manager in Berlin involves critical oversight of IT service delivery for the German Pension Insurance Federation (DRV Bund), supporting approximately 27,000 employees. You will be responsible for steering and monitoring external IT service providers, managing complex contractual relationships, and ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), including robust escalation management and continuous performance optimization. A core function is applying and improving standardized IT Service Management processes, ideally based on ITIL, to serve as a central steering mechanism. Candidates must have a university degree or equivalent professional experience in IT or economics, coupled with practical expertise in IT Service Management and quality/project management. Success requires strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills to effectively manage interfaces between internal stakeholders and external partners, driving high service quality and efficiency across the complex IT system landscape.

Required Skills

Education

Successful completion of higher education (Bachelor, Diploma FH) in IT or economics; OR completed vocational training in IT or a commercial/business area; OR equivalent IT-specific qualification.

Experience

  • Knowledge and practical experience in IT Service Management, ideally following ITIL standards
  • Foundational knowledge in Service Management (Dienstleistungsmanagement)
  • Multi-year practical experience in the field of economics or IT (if lacking formal qualifications)
